QoS and SLA aspects across multiple management domains: the SEQUIN approach
نویسندگان
چکیده
The aim of this work is to define and implement an end-to-end approach to quality of service (QoS), operating across multiple management domains and exploiting a combination of link layer technologies. The architecture for the Premium IP service is presented, which aims at offering the equivalent of an end-to-end virtual leased line service at the IP layer across multiple domains. Also, the results of the initial testing performed for the validation of the service and the provisioning model for Premium IP are described. The work presented has been carried out in the framework of SEQUIN, a European Commission-funded research project. © 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.

Sla-Based Job Submission and Scheduling with the Globus Toolkit 4
High performance computing is nowadays mostly performed in a best effort fashion. This is surprising as the closely related topic of grid computing, which deals with the federation of resources from multiple domains in order to support large jobs, and cloud computing, which promises seemingly infinite amounts of compute and storage, both offer quality of service (QoS), albeit in different ways....
متن کاملSLA guarantees for cloud services
Quality-of-service and SLA guarantees are among the major challenges of cloud-based services. In this paper we first present a new cloud model called SLAaaS – SLA aware Service. SLAaaS considers QoS levels and SLA as first class citizens of cloud-based services. This model is orthogonal to other SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS cloud models, and may apply to any of them. More specifically we make three con...
متن کاملNovel Methods For Determining QoS Parameters and Thresholds in End User's Service Level Agreement
Service level agreement (SLA) is a powerful tool to formalize the negotiation and agreement between the service provider and service seeker with the scope of service quality characteristics, compensations and tariffs. The service quality description is the main part of a SLA which can be characterized by the use of suitable and feasible quality of service (QoS) parameters. Determining suitable ...
متن کاملEnd-to-end Internet/intranet service management in multi-domain environment using SLA concept
This paper presents a multi-domain Internet service management framework that uses Service Level Agreement (SLA) to support QoS and to exchange management information across domain boundaries. In rapidly growing Internet/Intranet environments, there is no standard mechanism to exchange management information between service providers and their customers or between several service providers. Suc...
متن کاملMiddleware-based connection management for QoS-enabled networks
Many applications require network performance bounds, or Quality of Service (QoS), for their proper operation. This is achieved through the appropriate allocation of network resources; however, providing end-to-end QoS is becoming more complex, due to the increasing heterogeneity of networks. For example, end-to-end QoS can be provided through the concatenation of services across multiple netwo...
